After a bucket shower and breakfast, we drove back towards the sand dunes to take more pictures. The sky started to clear up from the storms yesterday, and we got the most amazing scenery. The valley was heavenly with blue skies, patchy clouds, mountains, puddles, green grass, trees, and sand dunes. After getting his fill of scenery shots, Sumit wanted to practice his portraits. He put on his 50 mm lens, got out his remote-controlled flash and a piece of white foam as a reflector, and started shooting pics of the jeep driver, Sarah, and me. He has a really nice Nikon DSLR and the shots he got were really good quality for a surgeon with a photography hobby. (The pics are posted at http://www.flickr.com/photos/samantsumit/sets/72157606101754942/) We stopped at a few more places on the way back to Leh to take photos. The drive was about 6 hours, and we got back in the afternoon. Carrie was at our guesthouse when we returned, and we got to catch up with her on our adventures since we parted a couple weeks ago. We took her to dinner at our favorite spot. Sumit and some German ladies that had stayed in our guesthouse also came to the restaurant and joined our table and made a nice, multicultural atmosphere. After dinner, I went to an internet café and bought my plane ticket for the next morning to leave for Delhi. We tried to have our (my) last sleep on the roof, but we didn't have enough blankets since we just borrowed an extra blanket from Sumit instead of getting a room. We gave up around 2AM after being rained on a bit and crashed in Carrie's room on the floor.
