Hello friends.  I can't believe those of you in Denver are seeing snow again!!  On May 1?!  I'm going to enjoy the desert even more today.  Even the 47mph winds that came on yesterday can't compete with snow in May.

It's been good to get some rest after Coachella.  I was over sharing the of a trailer with 2 guys that talked non-stop and about the most inane boy things.  I know there's guy talk but I never imagined these two!  One of them created the Safety sign that's pictured and that was actually funny. :)

My fun merch guys left Mon night for their homes in Orange County but will start arriving back on-site tomorrow.  Yay!  One of them suggested I drive out and enjoy the beach for a day but I opted for a shorter drive over to Joshua Tree National Park.  The south entrance was just 25 minutes away but I managed to get all the way there and realize my gas tank was already on 'E'!  I had to turn around, and while trying to remain calm, I also realized that if I did run out, it'd be another adventure I could laugh about later.  I'm not sure how but I did make it back to a gas station!

Joshua Tree National Park was enjoyable.  I especially liked the Cholla Gardens, all of the blooming cacti and the uncountable Joshua trees.  The photograph of the pink cactus flowers amidst the barren boulders served as evidence tome of God placing beauty within desolate/stark areas.  Good reminder that life works that way for us.  Things may seem dark at times and we will experience unhappiness but He provides beauty and joy even in the midst.  Sometimes we just have to look a bit harder for it.

I'm very blessed to not have to look far for some of the simpler beauties.  The site location for the festivals is the Empire Polo Field.  It'd be neat to be there for an actual polo match.  As I was walking barefoot across the grounds back to my car, I was enjoying the feel of the earth under my toes and was also noticing the rose gardens and cutesy pagodas.

Doesn't sound like I'll be doing much for Stagecoach so I should get to check out a lot of good music and continue networking.   I found out they have some sort of PBR (prof bull riding, not the beer this time!) set-up, too.  Woo-hoo!!  Headliners are The Eagles, Rascal Flatts and Tim McGraw and I hope to catch them all.

hugs,
andrea
