Day 36-38
Portland to Seattle

Ok, we are really smoked on our last morning in Portland. It's nothing against Portland, we are just really done with traveling right now. So, we gathered up our stuff and packed it one more time. I had finished the taxes in Oakland, but had yet to find a decent business center in one of our hotels. This one was fair, so before we hit the road I figured I better get the taxes printed and mailed in, since tax day is a few days away. The printer was very slow so it took me like an hour print all the forms. Once we were done we had one last place we wanted to hit in Portland. My friend Nathan had recommended a Lebanese restaurant there called Nicholas. We checked it out online and it had very good reviews so we popped in for lunch. It was awesome. Some of the best mediterian food Adeana had I had ever had. (I have to take a bit of an exception here, just because I think some of the food I had in Israel was about the best I'll ever have, but this was still very tasty.) After that, we were on the road and on our way to Seattle. Adeana has a cousin there. She called ahead and they are going to take us in for Easter and a couple more days. Looking forward to getting out of hotels for a few days. So, I met Scott and Monica shortly after. They also have three kids...Morgan, Max, and Jack. Oh, and also an au pare...Oriane. Everyone was great. We hung out the first night, got caught up and had another home cooked meal. For Easter we headed out in the morning to see a service at a well known church in Seattle. More mixed reactions. A good message, but a little too much cut to the chase for me. Felt a little heavy handed. The music was way off the mark for me. Even Ethan asked if the version of God of the City they were singing was the "lame version", I had to agree. Ok, I know I'm critical of churches. But, if you are going to do art, make it excellent, make it authentic, or don't do it. Oh, and by now we had seen countless pictures of the KCC service and was feeling pretty envious of what we were missing. It's gonna be tough leaving the KCC behind. Afterwards we came back to the house and had an awesome Easter dinner with the family. That was great. It was nice to relax, have dinner, and not be rushing off to the next city. Monday we decided to take another day to relax. It was like a weekend away from our day job of roadtripping. Hard to explain, but man does it wear on you after awhile. Adeana both felt a little guilty, like here we are in Seattle, we should be looking at the town, but we just couldn't, didn't care enough. So, most of the day was reading cooking magazines, watching food network, cooking, and playing with the kids. By the end we started feeling really filled up. I think our vacation from our vacation worked. Tomorrow the adventure starts again.
