Day 33
Redwoods to Portland
Got down the road a few miles today and noticed the most beautiful coastline. Then immediately after we found the Redwood National Park info center. So, we stopped in and got a plan for how best to check out the good stuff fast. We've got to be in Portland by the end of the day, so we have some time, but not forever. The first stop was "The Big Tree". It was an accurate name...it was gigantic. We kept driving for a bit and often had to get off to take a look at something or get a picture of something. This area is so beautiful. A little colder and rainier than the rest of California, but still very beautiful. Before long we were on the coastal drive. We got out at a scenic overlook of the coastline from this bluff. Amazing coastline, beautiful bluff, waves crashing in...it was definitely a nature lovers paradise. Next up was the drive through tree in Klamath, CA. A gimmick for sure, but it was still a last. After paying four bucks we headed up to take the van through. We had to fold the mirrors in, but she fit. We had to do it twice just for fun. Then we stopped to pee in the tree made into a bathroom :-) By now we were running out of time and had to get rolling. Oh, but wait...is that a huge Paul Bunyon and Babe...yep...let's get a picture. Notice Ethan hanging out under the huge pair of...uhem, well, you know. After that it was pretty much just hours of driving to Portland. We have an awesome hotel here. It's a great big room. Interview tomorrow here, so we'll see how that goes. Night.
