Where I stayed
Blue Guesthouse
Since I really didnt have anything to do for christmas decided to spend the morning chasing things up for Borneo before heading to the bus station to get a bus back to Pai. Could have spent the day here and bused it all the way back to Chaing Mai the following day but decided to would be better to break the journey up. This way I could also get an earlier bus back Chaing Mai without having to get up to early in the morning.
Nice mountain scenary on the bus ride with a number of roadside villages to be seen.
Once back in Pai tried to get a local bus ticket for the morning local bus but no luck. Seems that since today was christmas the local bus that normally runs at 8am wasnt running the following day and so decided on paying for the minivan. Wanted to have at least half a day in Chaing Mai on the following day so waiting would have been a pain.
Once in Pai stayed at a different guesthouse since it was closer to the bus station. Actually ended up with a proper bed for once rather than a mattress on the floor.
Didnt really have time to do anything around town so just wandered around the streets a couple of times in the afternoon. If it wasnt for the fact that my visa for Thailand was only 15 days and I dont have enough time as it is to fit everything I want to do in befoere heading home I would have taken a quite week off between Christmas and New Years.
While I havent been running around that much lately, would be nice just to stop and veg out in one spot for a week. If nothing else I might find the motivation to start clearing the backlog of unprocessed photos and unwritten blogs.
