Where I stayed
San francisco International Hostel
Was close to 1am by the time I finished and so headed back to the room to repack. Wanted to make my bag smaller so it hopefully sticks out less and get rid of a few things like the tent and lap top which I didnt want stolen. While I would of liked to have kept them decided it wasnt worth the risk. In the end the only things I have left which Ireally dont want stolen are my passport, last credit card, and camera (though more importantly my photos).
Also decided to keep my boots (expect to hike a bit) and sleeping bag (dont know where I might sleep) and given the cost of them and the fit of the boots would also dislike loosing them but could live with it
First thing the next day was to head out to Cupertino and drop my stuff off into Dans back yard since he had been kind eniugh to offer to take some things (like the tent which wont fit in astandrd bax) back to Oz for me and ost some stuff back as well. This was a great help since it saved me the time and hassle of having to do it at the least minute before flying. Also since the last of my photos werent yet on DVD didnt really want to send a package until they were.
Next headed back into town with a train full of Gaints fans. Guess its world series. Stopped off at REI to buy a new wallet and some insect repellent (should have more sunscreen) before rushing off to get my passport which I had to get before 1pm. Ended up wandering through Capital hill and the nearby Japan town the the way to and from the office.
Went to get a burger and was once again reminded about something I have noted about the type of people working in the fast food joints
Finally headed back to the hostel where i did some more work on the blog before catching the airport shuttle (only $4 more than train) for my flight.
Also took some photos of LA from the plane window. Lots and lots of lights filling the sky. Great big criss crossing grid of lights with a few veins of light where a heavy load of traffic was flowing.
