While only a short ride to Merced had a 3 hour wait for the bus to Yosemite and would not have arrived until 8:30pm. Given all the camp sites in the valley were full this wouldnt do. Ended up deciding to spend the night in Merced ($40 for a room not to bad) and catch the early morning bus instead. This would get me there in plenty of time to start a hike from the valley or for the afternoon bus to Toulimine meadows.
