S: With full intentions of getting up early and doing lots of exploring, it didn't exactly turn out that way.. we woke up at 11am!! By the time we left our room it was lunch time and half our day was gone. First stop was Joeys Cafe, it looked like it was straight out of the movies and a hot spot for the gays!!!! nothing wrong with that though just very flamboyant! We both ordered meals that were way to big for us and although our traveling goal is to be tight and stingy the final bill said otherwise, big spenders $30.
With our tummies full, we made our way to find the nearest bus stop. Our first attempt to get on was a bit of a fail as we didn't have the correct change. The very unfriendly lady on the bus driver lady told us "No, we only except the correct change", when Adam pulled out a $20. So we got back off and went  to seek change at the local chemist. Round 2 was more succesfull but 30 minutes of precious time had been lost.

A: Bus trip was going well, until a toothless american overheard our aussie accent. My big mistake for the day was engaging in a freindly conversation. Although short on teeth, he overloaded with useless information about almost every building in the local area and all to eager to share. I tried my hardest to cease the conversation, however every "Oh really" that came from my mouth seemed to fuel his never ending will to communicate. While dodging the free flowing spit that streamed from his toothless mouth, I did manage to pick up on him pointing out the building that apparently belonged to James Cameron (Yes, the bloke that directed Avatar and The Titanic), as well as the building that The Big Aaron (Terminator Aaron) and Oliver Stone share. However accurate this information is, will never be known.

Hooray, bus ride was over and we managed to slip away from the toothless chatter box, REI sports store was our destination. Although Coxy had previously warned us that we could have gotten our hiking shoes for a portion of teh cost that we paided for them. It really hit home when we found our exact shoes for a 1/3 of the price, we paid $265, REI price: $80, Major Fail.

S: whilst trying on clothes and walking through the store, i spotted a lady with two little dogs, dressed up in fluffy pink jackets. I couldn't believe my eyes, I was thinking how is she allowed to have these dogs in a store. Well i soon came to realise, thats what everyone does in LA. It didn't matter what store we were in, there were dogs everywhere. Some in handbags too. Why don't I have my Honey here.. :(

Next stop on our list was to go to Wallmart, and buy a new camera. Well that great idea came crashing down when we asked for some bus directions from the mall ambassador. Her first reaction was to inform us that she thought the area was a little dodgy. However she was kind enough to radio dispatch for bus directions. After writing these down for us she offered to get us a second opinion and radio dispatched again. After asking the question, there was a short silence followed by, "Negative, thats a negative". Decision was made, no wallmart for us. :(

Although night was falling, we didn't come all the way to Santa Monica without a quick view of the beach. To our a dismay and unfortunate sleep in, heading to the fun park on the pier was not a practical option and a big disappointment.

A: 1 overcrowded bus ride and we were back in West Hollywood and looking for a place to eat. Luckily we found a nice little mexican place, ie: cheap dinner! Although steph was not initially impressed, the food was very nice and we were back to eating on a tight budget.

Forgot to say -there were dogs in every store in England too. Seems funny doesn't it. No one has as many rules and regulations as Australia!!
