I have now arrived in Ecuador.  I am about an hour north of the capitol on a small farm.  So far there are 4 Germans, 1 French, 2 americans, and myself.  The town it totally different and will take some time to get used to.  I think it is the first day jitters and I know after awhile once I get into a rutine it will not feel so awkward.  I know once I get the hang of it, it will become normal.  The hacienda itself seems pretty neat with several buildings, families, animals, and farms.  It is the exact opposite of Bogota and what you would expect campesinos to be living.  Tomorrow I will find out where I will be teaching and can wait to see what it all entails.  The place where I am living is like a hostel and the living quarters where we all live is sustained by us.  We clean our house and cook are own food.

Once traveling again, I realized I went a whole week without music.  This, for me, is a feat that has not been done before.  Popping in the earbud and  looking at the view coming out of Quito was absolutely amazing.  The mountains were so green and huge.  I totally forgot how breathtaking that they can be.  The transportation was interesting and cheap.  Ecuador here is on the US dollar and the 40 minute bus ride cost only $1.25.  The people that I have ran accross have seemed very nice.  If i thought i was tall in Bogota, I am twice as tall here.  It is very indigenous and once again I stick out like a sore thumb.  The nearest internet, where I am at now, is 15 minutes away but knowing I will have some form of contact is good.
