First things first "MIAMI BABY",

This was a totally unplanned trip until 3 days before I was leaving for the place. The lad I was coaching with Ryan had arranged at the end of his Summer to go to Miami on holiday. Him and his mate Adam were to go there and then travel to another place in Florida to meet a friend. Ryan just said the one day "Why don't you come" and I said "ok".

Ryan had been given 2 buddy passes for South West Airlines from a host family he stayed with. Now you could either use these buddy passes as a roundtrip flight or 2 one way flights. Luckily enough Ryan only needed 1 ticket one way so I got a free ticket, nice one Ryan my son. During the week of camp in the eveings we had been looking at hotels for all 3 of us to stay in, the prices were going higher everyday so on the wednesday we decided it was time to book one. We went through hotwire.com and we got ourselves a right bargain. This hotel "The Howard Johnson" was on the beach, it wasn't South Beach wehre it was all at but still the beach was amazing. This hotel came up as $67 dollars a night between 3 of us. Me and Ryan were staying 1 extra night so we paid $180 for 6 nights on Miami beach, we were loving it.

With Buddy passes your basically on stand-by for flights so if the plane is full you wait for the next one and so on. We were lucky we only missed 1 flight because it was full, we got on a flight at 4:30pm and 4:50pm we were landing at Houston airport, I barely had time to fasten my seatbelt. Once at Houston we we advised that the next flight wasn't full and we would be getting to Miami at about 11:55pm. Second flight was about 3 hours long so I had a little kip which was nice. Once we got to Miami we collecte our bags and proceeded to get a Taxi. Now on Hotwire it said our hotel was only 12 miles away from Fort Lauderdale airport but it wasn't, $65 later in the taxi we arrived both of us thinking "Shit, where are we".

Hotel looked good though but we just didn't really know if we were in the right area of town or not. By the time we got in our room it ws 01:30am so we were both shattered so we hit the sack ready to hit Miami beach in the morning. The beds were really comfy so head+pillow = Knocked out!

We got up at about 11:30am in the end and headed to find some food, we found out that we were about 11 blocks away from Subway. This doesn't sound much but believe me it was a mini mission. After a toasted Sub we headed for the beautiful Miami (north) beach. See me pictures cos it is an amazing beach, we were a stone throw from the Hotel and we had complimentary sun loungers which was nice. Just like Spain and Greece sun loungers would of cost us a fortune. The sea was like a luke warm bath but absolutely Crystal clear. I was a very happy chappy. We had found out that we were only a $20 taxi ride away from South Beach and this was where it was all at, we would find out later in the week that we could also get a $2 bus there too, but for now we were happy with $20 between 3 of us.

Saturday Adam arrived about 8pm, Ryan and I had already been to the local shop to get beers so as he arrived we started drinking. Once all drinks were done we grabbed a taxi to South beach, the plan was to go to a club called Set and watch Daft Punk perform. We couldn't get in which annoyed us but we headed to another club called "Mckais". It was a good club with good music, fairly small and 100% expensive. At one point used my card and it was a 3 drink minimum on card so I had 2 heinekens and a lemon drop shot, it came to $38 = 24 squid. I nearly fainted lol, but it was Miami home of the Rich and Famous. We all had a great night and decided that the next few nights we would avoid clubs and just find some nice bars.

Days were spent down the beach enjoying the Sun, Sea and sand. The beach was amazing and the sea was really nice and warm, which sometimes was bad because you really needed it to be cold to cool off. Second night we went to a spanish place called Mango's and there was some amazingly hot dancers in there, we ended up this night in a place called Ted's Hideaway, just a hole in the wall bar but it was cheap and cheerful which was nice.

Throughout the week we went to a few differenet places and met some cool people. The one day we eat in a diner like you'd see on Happy days, and the same day we went to see Miami Ink. We spent a coupl of days on South Beach where the women were plentyful, there were some sights to be seen but obviously me and the boy's weren't complaining. The one evening I headed to the Mall and it was a beauty, it was huge. Mostly we chilled during the days though, we were gonna head to downtown Miami but with hangovers that never seemed like it was gonna happen. The one night we went to an outdoor bar and we met some girls there who were lovely (see pics) they enjoyed a drink and had a great sense of humour. They were all from Miami so had been there and completely done it.

The last day/night was a great one. We were on the beach in the day and there were some lovely bikin chicks on there so I managed to get a "pimping" photo. Me and three girls in bikinis they were lovley lovely lovely. We knew in the night we were going but didn't know where, these girls couldn't help because they were all from different states. We ended up getting drinks in Smirnoff Ice and beer, some good old fashioned turbo shandy's. They did the job and we jumped on the bus for south beach. Our last night and the heavens opened for and hour it was hammering it down and the roads were like rivers, it was just our luck.

The weather cleared up and we headed down "Ocean drive" everytime I saw this street I had to sing the lighthouse family song, it got annoying :). As we were walking down the street my friend Ryan thought he's stop the next two girls and ask them where we can go and see if the accent thing did it's magic ha ha. Well turns out the next two girls were from Kent ha ha, but we ended up heading to and Irish bar. We all go hammered on Magners Cider and Heineken, some real drinks. The girls we good drinkers but we all commented on how random it was 3 welsh guys two English girls in Miami drinking in an Irish bar. Chaz the girl I talked to alot is just starting Uni in Birmingham and her friend Sarah had just completed Uni. They were a great laugh and it was good to be with some good old British people.

Thursday the boys were to leave early to catch a train up to meet there friend at Palm Beach, my flight was booked back to Baton Rouge Louisiana for 6:00pm. I said goodbye to my new muckers and then headed for the beach for some final sunning, and also to have a good last dip in the sea.

Miami overall was amazing I had a fantastic time there even though they do screw the tourists over with there prices. Pictures will be added today at some point. Again thanks for reading and I miss ya all.

Adam x
