Just a quick explaination about the map pins ...which arent moving! We have discovered the apparently 'only' flaw with the travel pod site! The map of indonesia is CRAP! Its way too small for all the places you can go to. So if we put a pin in every town...you wouldnt see the map anymore. So were not bothering.
We debated whether to go straight to Ubud from the gilis, but decided to waste a night in Padangbai, as it had a reasonable write-up in the old LP. (of course, that could mean the place is utter crap...or a real gem...you can never really tell). As it turned out, it was a gem of a place. A lovely little fishing village set in a white sand bay with hilly backdrop and great views. A lovely old temple on the hill, and super cheap fish :)We even found a hotel with hot water...YES!!!HOT WATER!!! for 70,000! We havent had access to hot water for over 2 weeks and were in desperate need! We found some cheap bintang beer (indonesias equivalent to chang!) and got slightly drunk. So, we decided to stay another night:)Met up with a nice couple from england/holland and wasted the days with them just wandering about. Nice couple of days....doing basically sod all!
