We should have expected that a Wednesday night dinner invitation to the home of our new German friends would turn into a late evening of traditional German fare and some serious binge drinking...

Door to door service is always available for Sigi and we were picked up by his nephew and chaufered to our hosts home for a very anticipated German meal. When we first arrive to Uwe and Rosie's, house we were cheerfully greeted by my favorite animals in the world...two massive black and white cats that reside with the couple (oh no!). The scent of frying flesh is irresistible, they have whipped up a feast of Wienerscnitzel, Sauerkraut and mashed potatoes (yum yum)...to start we toasted on some sparkling wine...aka Champagne, followed by a combo of local beer and red wine. At the end of the meal, we were instructed about this very traditional German digestif we may not know about,Jägermeister! We humbly informed our hosts that we were familiar with this very typical beverage and ambivalently agreed to a shot of it...

A half dozen chestnuts, few (countless) beers, wine glasses and shots of Jager later we were off our seats and home bound with a tipsy Sigi, what a night!
