After quite a journey including a stopover in Dresden we finally arrive in Prague. First impression as you drive in and look around is, "This is it?" Luckily, not everything is what it appears at first glance…

The city is definitely trying to improve their infrastructure and highway system. The GPS is not updated because all of a sudden it is telling you to drive through open construction sites, railway yards and through newly built walls. The everlasting quote that will remain in my mind is "do a u-turn here."  Luckily we manage to quickly navigate to our home for the next three days.

The hotel we stayed at was pretty great. Although still working out the kinks, it was perfect!. It had a small kitchenette, a decent bathroom and best of all, wi-fi! Finally, we are connected to civilization. Upon arriving we quickly take to the streets in order to get our bearings in this majestic city. We make it to the city center and score some groceries and Opera tickets for New Year's Eve; best of all 'Carmen'. We also scope out the sights including the most impressive of all, Prague Castle. Walking around this impressive complex is quite a sight at night; best of all you avoid the daytime crowds, highest seen to date on our trip. The focal point here is the actual cathedral, St. Vittus, named after the patron saint. This grandiose Gothic landmark of Prague's past elicits a feeling of mystery  and mysticism not often experienced at sight of other religious buildings. Walking around is spooky and leaves you with a question mark regarding what is contained in the walls of the gargoyle lined magnificent structure. Off to bed, tomorrow will be a long day on our feet. On our way back to our place it begins to snow, (deep sigh). I like this place...
