I only have a few minutes in this janky internet cafe in the middle of rural northeast Luzon BUT I LOVE LOVE LOVE Diffun.  We're here for a week and I can't believe that I was ever dreading leaving Binalonan.  Sure I miss the people back there but this place is incredible.  We're staying in a (half-finished) house that's surrounded by rice and corn fields, lined by palm trees, that slightly start to make there way up the sides of mountains. I've never seen such a crazy assortment of nature all in one place.  I can't even put in to words what I see when I walk out the door every morning and the pictures only start to paint the brilliance of this creation.
The people are super friendly and alot of the field workers like to joke and ask "you want try and plant the rice?" and then laugh hysterically at their own jokes... little do they know we will be planting rice tomorrow.  we'll see how that goes.
We went for a four hour hike yesterday after lunch... stupidly at the hottest hour of the day.  And of course the boys wouldn't give up until we'd climbed the highest peak of the immediate mountains.  I couldn't complain... I was too in awe of everything.  Through the corn fields at the bottom, to the thick jungle of vines and deafening cry of cicadas, up through grasses as high as my chest, and finally to the top third where the sun was so scorchingly hot that even grass could barely grow and the only sounds left were my own breath and the pounding of Zach and Myles feet.  Oh, and the occasional curse word. :)  But probably the most incredible sights of my life.

I love it here... absolutely love it here.

Oh, and I ate bhalut.  And didn't throw up. gold star.
