So we thought it would be fun to document our first trip across the country together. The main person writing this I assume, will be me, Erin, and so take that into consideration when you are reading this! I have class in 3 hours and need to head up to Northern Virginia right after that so I can stay at my parents house and leave for the airport early in the morning. I have nothing packed and half my clothes are dirty! However, that doesn't bother me as this is just another routine trip for me! I believe this will be my 7th trip across the country, many of those courtesy of the US Air Force. Hopefully this blog will provide everyone with a little humor and insight into our relationship!

Having grown up as an Air Force brat, I am accustomed to many hours in the car going from point A to point B. Dean, on the other hand, has no idea what he has gotten himself into by having me as a road trip buddy! The other day he said that we would stop only every 4-5 hours and that would be to get gas. Clearly he did not take into consideration that I probably will need a bathroom break a little more frequently :) He wants to plan to be up by 0700 each day and on the road by 0900... I on the other hand, think that 0530 is an appropriate time to rise and shine and by 0600 we should be on our way! Clearly we have a few kinks to work out, but I am confident we will make it! After all, he did not work as hard as he has to not get to the Viper... Hopefully he will still have a girlfriend at the end of the trip - haha!

Our general plan is for him to pick me up from the airport in Tallahassee when my plane lands tomorrow around 1600 and then start heading West and drive a few hours. On day 2, we are driving to Houston, Texas and staying the night there. From there we plan to drive to Del Rio, Texas - of course on the way we have to stop at the Taxidermist to pick up his deer, which I have taken the liberty to name "Bambi". There is nothing that a city girl looks more forward to than sharing the cab of a truck with a deer head! Our weekend will be spent in Del Rio, where we first met, with our friends and finishing up any remaining business that Dean has residing there. By Sunday, we will be stopping in New Mexico and getting into Phoenix early Monday afternoon!

No matter what happens, I know I will be making it to Phoenix! In case you did not know,I received my undergraduate degree from Arizona State University which is outside Phoenix, in Tempe. I often refer to Phoenix as "The Promise Land" because it is my favorite place in the world to be and I have so many great memories and friends there. I definitely think I am more excited for Dean to be in Phoenix than he is to be there! Hopefully he will make as many good memories as I have in Phoenix!

Well, I guess it's time I actually packed and get things together... Stay tuned for the adventures of Dean & Erin (and Bambi!)...Wish us luck!
