So as the date of departure draws closer, we are swamped with all of the last minute administration details to take care of as well as carrying on with our normal activities such as work and hockey.  The good news is that the gentleman renting our house is okay with us leaving a lot of stuff behind.  I was dreading packing up everything!  Luckily it's just the closets and garage that need emptying.  That will be easy to accomplish on Christmas Day and Boxing Day (ha!).

Our neighbours hosted a wonderful send off party in our honour last week.  The "BAM!" drink that was invented that night was delicious and had few side effects unless one overindulged. We have amazing friends here and it will be difficult not to see them on a regular basis.  The boys will miss all their friends that live around the block and the street hockey that takes place there.  Other good-byes will occur on the last day of school/work and at holiday festivities with family.

People continue to ask if we are excited and how many days left (oh, and if there is room in our suitcases!)....I am more anxious at this point than excited and it seems very surreal that this is even happening.  I am hoping that after work is over this week, it will be quick to pack up our stuff and leave, but I fear the rest of the preparation will suck all the remaining energy I have.  Luckily, Jim picked our first stop to be a beach holiday so we can recoup and rest.  Looking forward to sun and fun in 12 days!
