Panaji, Goa, India - After a fancy night sleep in AC tier 3, I find myself being woken up by a conductor a few minutes before the train departs from Goa. Luckily I got off!! I am quite a distance from my final destination of Panaji, the state of Goa is pretty big in relation to which beach or area you would to spend time in. I was planning on spending a few days at a beach, but because of my wounded leg, I decide to avoid the salty sea and try find a guesthouse and maybe a tv to keep me company.

After an hour of walking and another hour on a local bus, I find my way to Panaji and endure the usual hour of wandering around the streets, searching for a place to stay. Many are either full or unwilling to take a foreign tourist. In the end I find a guesthouse slightly above my budget but it came with a TV and I ended up spending 3 days just resting my leg and generally feeling sorry for myself.

On my last day before leaving Goa, I upset my guesthouse owner by questioning why he wanted to charge me for looking after my bag. I spend the rest of the day over in Old Goa. Once 'Rome of the East' Old Goa is now an area of crumbling cathedrals. I wandered around the ruins and enjoyed the warm day but was still wandering around with both my backpacks!! Oh well, better save cash!!

That evening, I travel back to Panaji and board a bus headed for Mumbai.

Next stop, Mumbai.
