I knew very little of this hike when we set out. I did know that it was about 5.5 miles round trip, had about 1200 feet of elevation gain and had lot of scenic views on the way.

Starting from Seattle, we drive on I 405 N to get to route 522 and then only State Route 2 east. Just as we entered the highway 2, we spotted our first destination, a Denny's. About 45 minutes and a very heavy breakfast later, we drove for another 15 minutes to get to the trailhead. There is a very visible board indicating a turn offs and further route is clearly marked.

The trailhead has most of the facilities and the trail itself is mostly well maintained. There are benches to sit on the way, a couple of picnic stops too. The trail starts at a mild slope and increases in steepness as you climb further up. There are multiple view of the falls on the way, the middle falls (about 1.5 miles one way) are actually prettier than the final view from the top. We still did take the full trip and each view was the walk. There were so many different angles, each presenting a different aspect of the fall. Since May is probably the peak flow time, the fall was also at its peak glory.

We took just over 2 hours round trip for the hike, but we did walk a little fast and took virtually no breaks, other than the one on the top. Good fun outing with Hubert and Nitin.
