We drive by bus and prepare for a walk through the Badlands National Park.
The sun is now hot the park is dry yellow grass. Known as Badlands due to being an inhospitable environment. We head for a hike. We start one track, getting nowhere realising we've gone the wrong way and turn back to start again.

Half the group choose to take the bus to the end, but we continue on following the posts, walking in the blazing sun, there seems to be little/ no shade but were set with our gatorade to hydrate us and lunch to keep us going.
The walk seems never ending and after 30 minutes the landscape doesn't change, bit we don't see an end. After more than two hours we reach a rock formation we can either climb across to the bus or go around the flatter but longer path. Me and Emily Ruth choose to go across and Cheryl chooses the path.

As we wait at the bus and hydrate, we are missing an older member of our group Calvin.
Someone notices he had collapsed, so the ranges are called and he is hallucinating, dehydrated and in danger. 2 of our group take mattresses and umbrellas to help fight the sun and protect him. It took 30 minutes for an ambulance to arrive as we were in a remote park and he is taken to the nearest hospital. The drivers told us a few days later he was doing fine now- good news.

After the dramatic afternoon we continue our journey to Wall Drug, full of strange souvenirs for tourists, the shopping centre has always been known as a stop with free ice water for travellers.

After a dinner of pesto pasta, we hit the road again, time for another night drive.
