Tuesday I headed to Brussels for my spring break. I flew out of Bratislava, which was not as third-worldly as I had hoped, but I got over it and made it to Brussels.
I didn't do a whole lot to write home about in Brussels. I slept a lot... 2+ weeks of travel prior to this was exhausting so I allowed myself to sleep. I mostly wandered around the city for a few days. I ate waffles, which were amazing. I went to the chocolate museum (and yes, I ate chocolate...it was more of a tasting than a museum) and drank a few Belgian beers. I ate some delicious mussels and fries. The food was great!
I saw a few interesting pieces of Architecture...an addition to a church by Andrea Bruno. It was a corten steel and glass addition that was the same size and shape in elevation and plan, but modern. I also saw something by Plecnik, which was cool, but I couldn't get it, so it wasn't all that exciting.
I didn't really love Brussels. The men were creepy and there wasn't much to do. So, on Saturday, I was so ready to get out of there!!
