Hello everyone!!!!

We are in Galapogas Islands and it is the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my life. It is just so beautiful, is something everyone should see in their lifetime. There are sooooo many animals and they come so close, its just amazing, they are not scared of humans at all. I dont think I can even explain how beautiful it is so your are just going to have to look at the photos and see for yourself.

We were on a yacht for five days cruising around the Islands, the yacht was named the Darwin. It was great only 15 guests and they staff were wonderful. Within the first hour of being there we had seen lion seals, flamingos, giant carbs, blue footed boobies plus many more. It is actually an overload of animals, it is only just sinking in now how amazing it actually is, its mind blowing.

Over the five days we spend most of the time cruising around the different Islands Santa Cruz, Santa Fe, Espanola and Florena. Going onto the Islands and viewing what animals were there and snorkling. Snorkling was my favourite, especially with the seals. They actually play with you in the water, you can do turns with them and even touch them, its just so amazing. Also one day when we were deep water diving I saw eleven sharks, eight of them were all at the one time. The guide pulled me down to have a look and he went to touch one and then all eight sharks came darting out everywhere. There is never any shark attacks here, so its OK, however I was still a little nervous. One of the sharks came chasing Kitty and she was quick back in the boat, I tought it was hilliarious. Actually yesterday when we were just swimming at the beach there was a shark right next to us in the shallows, it was so awesome. On the Island Florena we visited the Galapagos Postoffice, it is really cool. Its a random postoffice (if you can call it that) on the island, it was set up by the Whalers over two hundred years ago and they have kept the tradition going. What happens is that you write out your postcards but you dont put a stamp on it only the address, then other visiters to the island look through the postcards and if they are going to the place where you have writen on the card, they will take the postcard and hand deliver it. Its really cool (Mum and Dad I hope you get yours).

After the boat cruise finished we spent the next three days at Peurta Auyora on Santa Cruz, it was so much fun, it is a wicked town. Everyone is just so friendly we were constantly going out for dinner and drinks with people. You would just walk down the street and be stoped for a chat, everyone was just so friendly. Kitty and I really did not want to leave, it was so hard we almost cried. If we had not booked the trek, we would have stayed at Galapagos for three months and did volunteer work here for three months and did some more volunteer work at the Charles Darwin Research Centre. Have a look at the photo of the Giant Turtles they have there, its amazing, they are so pre-historic. There is this one turtle there and once it dies they whole species is gone. It is called the Lonesome George, they are trying to make him breed with the turtle species closest to him, but he is just not having a bar of it. It was really quite sad.

Kitty and I had heaps a friends which were locals, it was good as they would take us to all the good restaurants where the locals ate and not the tourists. They also took us kyaking to visit some of the good surf breaks and secluded beaches. It was great Kitty and I were getting locals rates everywhere. Our first night in Peurta Auyora Kitty and I accidently gate crashed a wedding (Bec you would have loved it). We thought it was a bar, the people there were so nice they invited us in, gave us drinks and food. It was very different to the weddings in Australia, it was kind of like a version of perfect match, where they guys choose a girl and give her a gauter. I was pulled up on stage, it was pretty funny, Kitty was there taking photos. The next day at the beach actually kitty and I were recognised by these guys that were at the wedding. We ended up meeting up with them for drinks and became friends with them. It was just so social, it was honestly the best eight days of my life. It is just such an incrediable and special place, I really just cant even explain the feeling I had there, it really is like nowhere else on earth.

We are now in Lima and have meet up with everyone else for the start of our trek. Lima is pretty sketchy, Laura was mugged, someone smashed a window of their taxi and stole her bag. The hostel is in a good area of Lima so we are just staying around here. It was really good to see everyone, we all went out, ended up being rather large, everyone has so many stories from their recent travels. Kitty and I are still missing Galapagos though. Also a bit home sick today, its my cousins wedding tomorrow and have been talking to everyone from home, wish I was there for that. So everyone I miss you all and love you lots and talk soon.

Hope everyone is well!!!!

Love always and forever Abbie
