We visited Bill's cousins Paul and Susan, as well as Uncle Norm - in Manchester. They still live in the same street that Bill's folks lived in prior to migrating to Australia. We all laughed to hear Susan laugh, cause she snorted, just like Aunty Kay (Bill's sister). We got stuck in a traffic jam on our way back to Birmingham. What ought to have taken one hour, took around three and half.
Aunty Anne, Uncle Mick, cousin Lee and his wife live at Wolverhampton, which is only around 20 minutes from Birmingham, so we popped one afternoon. Aunty Anne said that if she'd passed Billy in the street she would have recognised him instantly - that he hadn't changed in 40 years. Naturally Bill was chuffed to hear this. Aunty Anne also said Bill looked a lot like his Dad. Interestingly, we were told that the Woolley's (Bill's mothers side of the family) were from Ironbridge. Bill's cousins Paul and Lee remember throwing the boomerangs Bill's family had brought as gifts from Australia back in 1973 - both had kept them all these years. Ariel and Brandi-Chanel thought that Aunty Anne looked a lot like Nana, and that she even had the same reactions - especially when we told her about the outback and all the creepy crawlies - he he he!!!
