However, our train ride from Alicante to Barcelona was AMAZING! When you looked out of one side of the train window you could see the spanish mountains and adorable little spanish villages that were built right into the moutain side. They looked like everything you would think about when you hear the word "spanish village" the buildings and landscape had a very spanish feel. Their were mules and sheep everywhere. Not only that but when you looked out the other side of the train windows you could see the Mediterrian Sea. It was blue and clear and looked like it came straight out of a movie scene. The waves were crashing up against the rocks and making big splashes, for a few seconds I almost thought I could be the Little Mermaid, definietly forgot my age for a second!
So after a beautifully refreshing 6 hour train ride we arrived in Barcelona where we spend the remainder of our weekend until Sunday when we made the gorgeous 6 hour train ride back to Alicante. The second time was just as amazing as the first too. I noticed all new things about the landscape and villages and realized that the fields of trees I was looking at were most likely lemon or orange trees. Very cool! Once we arrived back into Alicante we had to find a bus to get to the airport. This brought on the usual...get lost for about an hour and than realize we were not as lost as we thought we were in the first place. However, even though we spent only about 8 hours total in Alicante and a good 2 hours of those were spent lost and another 3 hours was spent at the airport, the city was still amazing! It was one of those cities you really did not mind getting lost in, it was almost in getting lost that we realized how beautiful the city actually was.
