We took the Orange Line from Midway Airport to the Downtown Loop where we disembarked only a couple blocks from our hotel.
Once we got checked in, we set out for Miller's Pub for our first meal in Chicago. Miller's Pub, established in 1935, is located under the El tracks in the heart of the Loop. Supposedly, it is a favorite with celebrities from Jay Leno to Lou Rawls. The place was hopping - especially the bar area where folks were enjoying spirits while watching the Celtics versus Lakers game.
Miller's Pub is famous for their Canadian style ribs, however we opted for burgers which were also special in that they were served on a special bun that was like pretzel bread. YUM! On full tummies, we had a very nice walk back to our hotel. Club Quarters has a unique concept. Nice, business oriented...very efficient. Complimentary water and plastic bottles are provided so guests may bottle their own. Because we both are big water drinkers, this was key to our survival - we filled up every morning before we set out to tour the city and filled the bottles up throughout the day at water fountains here and there. We also filled up every evening upon our return.
Closets are located outside the rooms where guests can find ironing boards and irons, extra coffee and pillows. As we were getting situated in our room, we had a voice recording from a hotel staff explaining these particular amenties. www.clubquarters.com
