This is just the last update on Nepal, which seems like a decade ago.  We are already in Vietnam so this entry will be quick.  I hiked 7 hours back down to where Andy was.  His headache was better but not gone completely.  He still had no appetite and was not sleeping that well.  We stayed the night in Periche where we met some fellow travelers from Adelaide.  We are planning to have dinner with them when we wander to the land down under in Jan.  The next day we descended farther to Namche and even farther the next day to Phading.  We were ahead of schedule by a day so we tried to fly out of Lukla on the 23rd but the flights were all canceled due the clouds.  The clouds just sit at the level of the runway preventing the small planes from landing.  It is quite common and most people leave a 2-3 window at the end or start of the hike to account for flight cancellations.  We were lucky to get out the next day.  We flew from Lukla to Kathmandu, picked up our luggage from the hotel and got on a standby flight to Bangkok that afternoon.  We were running to catch the plane out of Kathmandu to BKK but we made it and spent an evening in an executive suite hotel room.
