Salvador was a great place to start. Much African influence.
Well run pousada with friendly German owner who was very helpful with tips.
Big city. Stayed in Barra district by the sea.
Centro Historico UNESCO listed colonial architecture. Great food from the street vendor ladies.
Sunday nights - Powerful percussion band Olodum play to packed audiences - chaud!
Itaparicu Island for day trip.
