So this weekend we decided that we needed to catch up on sleep and be sure that we were completely over being jet-lagged. As it turns out, we haven't quite adjusted totally to the time difference. On Saturday, my roommate and i didn't wake up until about 1:45 pm. Not good. Then we spent most of the day organizing our lives and preparing for classes to start. For dinner we walked down to the 80 cent pizza place that jjust happens to be right around the corner. Danger. Unfortunately we didn't go for the 80 cent slices, instead we each got an entire pizza for ourselves...we are clearly American. They did give us a buy 2 get in free deal though! :) Speaking of being American, Sunday night we decided to go to Applebee's for dinner. Yes, Applebee's. It was pretty similar to the one at home. Same atmosphere, same stained glass window above the bar, oh and you can see the ocean from the windows. I guess thats a little bit different. I got my typical Caesar salad...Now i know what you are thinking, I am not experiencing the Greek culture, blah blah blah, but here's the deal, I am here for 3 months and i am going to have PLEANTY of time to try and do everything while i am here.On our way back home we stopped at this amaaaaaazing ice cream place. It's really like gelato, but its like phenomenal! They had about 54 different flavors and i wanted to sample all of them. I kind of wish we had never seen it there on the corner but its really hard not to. They had a creme brule flavor that was just amazing, maybe one of the best things i have ever tried. I'll be back to try more!Were still working really hard to fit in. It is hard only knowing a few words to get around but I am sure that as soon as my Greek class starts I'll begin to pick it up a lot faster. Tomorrow is my first day of class and i am really excited! I only have one class from 6:30-8 so I am in no hurry to get up :) I'll let you know how classes go later this week! Until then, hope all is well! Toodles
