It is the final full day in Berlin.  I have already seen the major sites but decided to roam the streets on foot to see a few sites and to find a coffee shop.  After many miles and photographs, I settled for a Dunkin Donuts.  Not exactly what I had in mind for a local coffee shop, but the coffee is good and it had a bathroom.  The hardest thing to get used to in Europe is finding water for a good price and having to pay for the toilet.  I won't take that for granted when I get back to the states.

After taking a rest to have a cup of coffee and a muffin, I continued my walk and ran into a beautiful synagogue.  Since it was such a gorgeous day (minus the lacking sun) I decided to go for another stroll in the tiergarten.  It is a wide space of trees and memorials and I am sure will be quite beautiful in a week or two when all these buds turn into leaves and flowers.

From the tiergarten, I walked through the local mall again to find lunch.  I hate to say I ate at Subway, but I couldn't handle another heavy meal.  After a somewhat healthy lunch, I decided to splurge on one more dose of gelato before the end of my European trip.  It wasn't as great as in Italy, but still delicious nonetheless.

The last major site to see is Reichstag (German Parliament).  It has a grand dome at the top which allows views of the entire city.  I had to wait until 7:30 for my reservation, but it was well worth the wait.  The views were great but quite different than the previous stops of this European trip.  Instead of historic buildings and artwork, this city is about modernization.  Reichstag is full of windows and mirrors to help with energy efficiency and they look pretty cool too.  The sunset in this building was amazing too.  Quite the perfect sunset for my last sunset on the trip.  Beautiful pinks and lavenders fill the sky on my walk to find dinner.

I decided I couldn't make the last night in Europe and early one, so I stopped by an Irish Pub with live music.  The band was only OK but a couple from California and the bartender kept me quite entertained.  My favorite pubs on this trip have been Irish ones so maybe that is my cue to have Ireland be a stop on my next trip to Europe.
