When one thinks of ziplining it is my experience that one will think of Costa Rica, Jamaica, or even South Africa, but St. Cloud, Florida? Well sure enough ziplining now exists in Central Florida at Florida Eco Safaris at Forever Florida (http://www.floridaecosafaris.com/).

Forever Florida (http://www.foreverflorida.com/) is located at 4755 N. Kenansville Road in St. Cloud, Florida. My friend Michelle found an article about this and forwarded it to me, and those of you who know me know that I will not pass up a fun adventure  :o)

Invitations were sent out and although we had 8 tentatives scheduled to join in the fun it ended up being just two of us. Reservations are required and if you wait till the last minute to try and book then you will most likely find yourself out of luck; which is what happened to some of our tentatives :o(

My friend Michelle and I departed on Sunday morning (2/28) at 6:30am from Miami. Eventhough it is just a 3 hour drive to St. Cloud we opted to make a stop in Fort Pierce at the Cracker Barrel restaurant (http://www.crackerbarrel.com/) for a hearty country breakfast; yum yum yum.

We arrived at Forever Florida with 45 minutes to spare. Forever Florida is a 4700 acre eco-ranch and wildlife conservation area boasting untamed wilderness, natural streams, wetlands and dense cypress forests. We were transported from the main building by a giant 6 wheel swamp buggy to the entrance of where we would commence our zipline adventure. There they had several animals on display including a Golden Cougar; beautiful animal.

The zipline safari consists of 7 "zips" and 2 sky- bridges and lasts around 2 1/2 hours. The maximum height you experience is 55', and the maximum speed is around 25 mph. The longest "zip" run is of 750 feet. In total there are 9 observation platforms.

The cost is $85 for adults and children ages 10 years and older, however at the time of our visit FL residents get a $20 discount; thus our cost was only $65 per person. You must pay at the same time you make your reservation, and the fee is non-refundable (rain or shine).

To take the zipline safari you must weigh more than 70 lbs, but less than 275 lbs. They recommend you do not wear open toed or heel shoes (boots or sneakers are recommended).

We had the best weather imaginable; blue skies and temperatures in the 60's. Perfect day !!!
