Where I stayed
Prima Maureen's place :o)
The idea was to go camping this weekend in Orlando. My cousin Dougie's two boys are in the cub scouts and had a camping outing scheduled at Fort Wilderness (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/campsites-at-fort-wilderness-resort/). Dougie invited me to join them with Rebecca and Christopher, which I decided would be a great idea considering that Rebecca and Christopher had never been camping yet. However on the day of departure I actually cancelled my plans to go because of a cold front that was making its way through the Orlando area this weekend and that was bringing allot of mositure with it, and because I did not think it would have ended up being a good thing to be sleeping in a tent with two young kids in the pouring rain and with temperatures dipping down into the 40's.
After checking the local weather with my cousin Maureen that lives in the Orlando area I was more convinced that I made the right decission, but then my cousin Maureen suggested I still go but stay at her place, which is what we ended up doing, and I am glad I did because my kids and I had a great weekend and I got to spend some time with my cousin Maureen that I very much enjoyed.
Rebecca, Christopher and I spent all day Saturday at the Magic Kingdom (a big THANK YOU to my friend Cynthia) and although it drizzled on us from 9:30am till around noon the weather then cleared up and we had a great day. We did ALLOT. Rebecca and Chris amazed me because we walked and walked and walked and they pulled through it, and we did allot of rides.Rebecca's favorite was Stitch's Great Escape, while Christopher enjoyed the Buzz Lightyear ride the best. Me? I enjoyed the kids enjoying themselves :o)
At around 5pm we left the park and made our way to Fort Wilderness where we met up with Dougie and family. We had dinner with them and I had contemplated camping out this night, but the kids were complianing of the cold so back to cousin Maureens house we went. Thank you prima !!!!
After breakfast on Sunday morning we departed Orlando around 11am and we stopped in for lunch at grandma and grandpa in Boynton Beach before making it back home finally around 5pm. After off loading the car we went for a bicycle ride around the neighborhood, which is the kids favorite activity these days.
By the snoring going on behind me I believe Rebecca and Christopher had a fun weekend as well, and now it is my time to hit the sack.
