Day 5:
We started the day off at 8am.
A3 C14 odometer read 4222 miles
Rusty 1200RT odometer read 25755 miles
Out of Gillette we took I-90 to Buffallo where we took US16 all the way into Yellowstone National Park (http://www.nps.gov/yell/). It was a much longer route, but it was told to us to be a very "scenic" route. The first 80 miles were scenic as we passed through Big Horn National Forrest (http://www.fs.fed.us/r2/bighorn/), which was very nice. We stopped in Worland for a quick snack and to fill up the bikes. Next stop was Cody (http://www.codychamber.org/) where we had a blizzard at the local Dairy Queen. In Cody is the Buffallo Billl museum (http://www.bbhc.org/home/index.cfm) which we regretfully did not have enough time to stop and see. From Cody it was another 50+ miles to the entrance of Yellowstone.
We circled around Yellowstone Lake and reached "Old Faithfull" at around 3:50pm and the geyser burped (did it's thing) at 4:10pm, so we were lucky that we did not have a long wait. I was told that the geyser spurts every 93 minutes. Allthough we only passed through a small part of the park I have to say that I was not impressed with the scenery (other than the lake). We saw some Elk deer, which was the extent of the wildlife we witnessed.
The highest we rode today was at 9800 feet. We rode a total of 597 miles.
We ended the day in Deer Lodge, Montana (http://www.citytowninfo.com/places/montana/deer-lodge).
