Day 2:
We started the day at 9:10am EST. Our sore backs and aching butts got a well deserved rest.
A3 C14 odometer reading: 2156
Rusty 1200RT odometer reading: 23744
We traveled north on I-75 to Chatanooga, TN, (http://www.chattanoogafun.com/) where we stopped off for a refreshing smoothie. While we were not able to fully enjoy the sights of downtown Chatanooga, the little we did get to see left us wanting to come back at a future date to explore further. From I-75 we took I-24 with a short detour to Franklin, TN, (http://www.franklin-gov.com/) where we visited our cousin Saskia and her husband Ski. It was good to see them again after so many years. We spent about an hour with them and hit the road again. We ended our day in Calvert City, Kentucky (http://www.calvertcity.com/) at 8:30pm CST at a Days Inn.
The weather today was miserably hot hot hot..... hot. On the news we heard about the wildfires at Yosemite National Park in CA, and that the park has been completely shut down to visitors. As this was a scheduled stop for us to explore we hope that by the time we reach this area it will have reopened again.
