So what would you like to do for your birthdays this year? We would like to go to Disney World (Magic Kingdom - https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/destinations/magic-kingdom) and spend it with our family, was the reply I got from Rebecca and Chris; how sweet is that   :o)

This year Rebecca celebrated her 11th and Christopher his 9th birthday. So off to Orlando we went. We started our day at 5am and were on the road by 6am. We made it to Magic Kingdom and had a very nice day.

I wanted to make it a special outing so I booked the Nickelodeon Suites Hotel (www.crappyhotel.com), which was promoted as a "great place to stay with the kids". Truthfully - the kids had an OK time, but this "resort" was really nothing more than an overpriced super old Holiday Inn hotel type buildings that have some nice cartoon character wall paper. Lets see what did we not like: (1) room door lock did work, and took 40 minutes to repair (this is at 10:30pm with 4 sleeping kids in the car), (2) absolutely no parking in the immediate area of our building - ridiculous, (3) we booked for 6 people but the sofa bed was not made up and no supplies in room; towels for 4 only, (4) no bed blankets, (5) TV in master bedroom did not work, (6) reserved kind bed with bunk beds but got a queen with two single beds and sofa sleeper, (7) faucet in bathroom leaked water all over counter, (8) no "do not disturb" sign provided, (9) supposed water park - was a tiny pool with two small water slides. Shall I go on? No, not worth it. Let's just say we will not ever stay at this dump again.

We had planned to spend our second day at this "resort" we booked, but after an hour in the so called "water park" the kids were bored and so off we went to look for something fun to do. We ended up at Fun Spot America, an Amusement Park (http://www.funspotattractions.com/), and had a blast. This is a place that we will definitely return to on future weekend outings with the kids, or without them  :o). It is affordable (60% cheaper than any of the big parks), tons of funs things to do, conveniently located, and much shorter lines than any of the big parks. If you have not been there, then I highly recommend you go check it out.

We ended our stay by having dinner with our Orlando cousins. We thank them for coming out to see us.

So that was our weekend. My Rebecca and Chris, as well as Jennifer and Melanie, had a fun weekend, and that's all that I wanted.

Happy Birthday to my two beautiful kids.
