I went around town on the back of Na's moped. FORGET chessington world of adventures, being on the back of a moped in Phnom Penh is the most dangerous ride I've been on. There are cars and mopeds coming in all directions and no one stops or gives way. I went round all the places and did it in about 30 mins. Though it is scary, i did not see one single bang or scrap. I think it is because everyone is going so slow that you can stop at any time. After a while you get used to it and relax, and even enjoy seeing the sights.
To please mum, the second time i borrowed a helmet as it is illegal to carry a passenger who does not wear one. MUM- I'm going to buy myself a helmet to have in case all the time. After getting used to the traffic, now i want to rent a moped!!! its definitely the best way to get about. I haven't seen anyone cross the road yet so not sure what's safer!!
This evening Sopeak and Na took me out to dinner in a Thai restaurant, it was lovely food and though it seemed that there was little of it, because they have so much white rice with everything i was so full. I was glad to see a bit of rain on the way back, it was cooling. For three of us it was $12!!
I've realized that I'm going to be so clued up on British news and animals the only English speaking channels on the t.v in my apartment is Animal Planet and BBC news!!
I know have a Cambodian phone number. It will be easier now to stay in touch with people I meet out here and really cheap. I get unlimited credit for $5 for a month.
Strange site of the day
An elephant calmly walking with the traffic, though it is the first elephant I've ever seen in real life ( i think) it seemed so normal. The elephant looked like it has slippers on!!
