After missing our first flight out of buenos aires we finally arrived in iguazu mid afternoon to an overcast day in puerto iguazu just on the Argentinian side of the brazil/Argentina border. We checked into our hotel and kicked back ahead of tackling the falls the following day. We had dinner at the hotel, watched some movies and crashed pretty early with a big day ahead.

We rose early and jumped on the bus out to the falls, bought our entry ticket, grabbed a map and started our adventure through the national park to see the world famous falls. We tackled the upper and lower trails first up in the morning, glad that we got there early as the crowds built significantly in the afternoon. We then went on a tour that included a 4wd ride through the park to the river where we boarded a boat and headed towards the falls. We had put all our belongings, shoes and socks in a waterproof bag and braced ourselves to get very wet. The falls didn't disappoint as we went right up into the falls and we have the DVD to prove it. After finishing the boat ride we attempted to dry off, grabbed some lunch and then jumped on the train up to see the final section of falls at the devils throat. Although there was a very big crowd the view was still amazing. Having now tackled the whole of the Argentinian side of the falls it was time to head back to the hotel, get dry clothes on, have a feed and hit the pillow ahead of our early flight to Salta Friday morning to begin our tour of northern argentina.

Having seen the world famous iguazu falls I still think Niagara and Victoria falls would have to be out of this world to top them.

I'm not being condescending. I'm just far too busy thinking about much more important things you wouldn't understand - Jimmy Carr
