Where I stayed
Fjordland Navigator
Really can it get more beautiful than this Fjordland? We were so blessed today to arrive in full sunshine via a 1 hour boat trip on Lake Manapouri followed by another hour coach trip through Wilmot Pass to Deep Cove, Doubtful Sound, where the Fjordland Navigator was waiting. She took us (70 passengers) out to the Tasman Sea where we were assured it was a calm day (although a number of dinner plates were broken in the swell). We only saw fur seals - no penguins or dolphins - but the scenery is something else - 1200+ metre mountains whose summits break through the clouds and are higher than the tree line; valleys deeply incised both above and below the water; a carpet of various hues of green vegetation from towering Rimu and Beech trees and treeferns; and ribbons of water coursing down mountain faces and coalescing in thunderous falls. Richard even kayaked and swam. We tied to a mooring in the middle of nowhere.

Beautiful
Wow - looks gorgeous there! You'll be happy to know you missed another huge dump of snow in TO. I think I picked the right winter to move to TBay :)
