To get there head towards Barangay Catarman, which can be reached by driving the main highway from Constalacion towards Liloan, then as you take the left hand bend in the road you will see the Liloan Lighthouse replica on a divider island, on a right turn on the left hand bend (why didnt i learn english better at school !!) Take that right turn and proceed about two hundred metres down the road, if you cross the bridge you have gone too far. The entrance is opposite the Yum Yum bakery.
There is plenty of parking, or alternatively you can take you vehicle in
. It was a beautiful day and so we left the bike in the parking lot and proceeded on foot. There are several fishing ponds, where for a fee you can catch and return the fish. There certainly was lots of people, many Koreans, waiting to catch the next 'Big Fish,' and i saw several people catching, much to there glee and excitement. There is also a Zip line, 200php pper person. It 800metres long, one of the longest i have seen, and its over two legs, so its 1.6kms of zipping along a line WOW !!! There's also horse riding, which whilst the horse is led its a great chance so someone who has never tried it, to give it a go. One thing i certainly do like about the place is the prices are not aimed at only the rich, this is a place for young and old, rich and poor. Second Visit
The first visit was just to see what it was like, the second was to do !! We paid out 200php entrance, 100php each and rode our little motorbike to the restaurant, where my fiancée instructed me to go as she was hungry, at 1130pm !! So we parked the bike under the cover provided and wen to the restaurant. As we had got there so early, they weren't really prepared for such early dinners, however attended to us attentively and showed and talked us through the menu. The food is all freshly prepared and as u can see in the pics, freshly caught
. The 100php entrance is consumable in the restaurant, so we got the combo meal, 100php each. My gf had BBQ pork with rice and ice tea, and I had chicken rice and Ice tea also. For essentially a free meal it was outstanding and looking at the food being brought out to some other diners, it all look good sized portions and excellent quality. We said our thanks to the staff, and left a small tip, and walked through the Mangroves to the Zip line, looking at the abundant fish on both the fishing pond side and the river side of the connecting bridge. We arrived at the Zip line just as they closed for lunch, however the lady there was warm and friendly towards us and processed our accident and good health form, took our money and stamped my fiancées arm. We waited for only 35mins while the staff took there dinner and sat under the provided shelter and chatted with some other guests. There is another canteen there at the Zip line, however i failed to ask whether the 100php entrance was consumable there also.
When the Zip line opened the lady called us over and fitted her with a harness and helmet and then pointed us to the stairs. So up the stairs we climbed....my fiancée when we got to the top had a sudden OMG i cannot do this moment when she saw the height however it lasted only a few seconds and onto the zip line she climbed. All of the harness and safety equipment was checked and then she was ready. ( On one note all the harness equipment is in excellent condition and left me NO cause for concern.) Then with a push and a scream she was off......and my brave girl even went no handed at one point, just to prove how brave she is...good girl !!
! The Zip line goes out to an islet, where u are connected to a second line and sent back again to a lower point. Its a little slower but still a wonderful experience. When she arrived she was full of smiles, so i was happy.....We returned the equipment and thanked the staff, then walked back down the connecting bridge to the restaurant where we had parked the bike. We rode to the front entrance and paid 50php for a 10 minute horse ride, something else she had never done. She got on and was led a slow pace along the banks for the fish pond, which is very pleasurable to do, and beaming from ear to ear i knew she was enjoying the experience. After near on 10 mins re returned and my fiancée full of smiles posed for pictures with her new best friend, and told me that she no longer wanted a dog she wanted a horse (a joke i hope !) We thanked the young lalaki for his assistance and got back on the motorbike and rode home full of new memories and experiences..
Diversification is certainly the name of the game here and someone, Papa Kit, certainly has had a fantastic idea. I wish Papa Kit's all the best for the future. I commend the owner for sensible pricing, its not over priced like Crowne Regency tower, and some other things in Cebu. We spent 3.5hours there and spent 450php for the experience. We really enjoyed it, thanks
Papa Kit for a great day out, and 'Hi' to Coco and Kirby some friends we made there..... Papa Kits on Facebook
Having ridden through Liloan a few times before i never really had the opportunity to explore it. So the finacee and I explored. We found a place called Papa Kit's, and having read a little about it on the internet, decided to just take a look. Budget was non existent, but we had enough for entrance.
