Quick summary - Don't plan anything just because it says on the website that they will be showing a certain movie. iMax iShould save my pesos and watch it on normal screen.
I have been here now for two months, waiting for a good film to see at the iMax and let my gf experience the delight it shows....I have been to iMax London and some others places, and know how much better cinema experience it is than just a standard film.
I organised a birthday treat for a friend, 6 of us to watch Sucker Punch a Chick flick with action for the guys. Before they all arrived my gf and i went to make sure that it was on and seats were available. To my horror, the polite gentleman opening the door informed us that Sucker Punch would not be shown in the iMax cebu as the film was the incorrect format for their screen.
HUH WAT...iMax cinema that cannot show iMax films....
So far in the two months i ahve been here they ahve shown only cartoons, and rubbish movies (I am Number Four) Unlike other iMax cinemas i have visit they dont show the short simple movies that show off the technology, films like under the sea, space and such like.
Yet another example of poor management creating a loss making place that could be so much better.
Needless to say i took my friends to the normal cinema and watched Sucker Punch on the normal screen, i save lots of pesos, and treated then to some other treats instead.....
Sucker Punch is a great movie I enjoyed it very much, infact i would go see it again....
