Stage Two was to collect NBI clearance for the passport application. Simply go to the NBI at the capitol site, with two forms of ID, complete the form, have a picture taken and leave, 45mins tops !!
Please refer to Lesson One if u think thats it. We arrived at 1100hrs which was mistake number one, i thought we had arrived at  premiership football match when we entered the gates after paying 15php to park the XRM. There was a throng of people there all looking expectingly at the windows of the NBI office. some what daunted and distracted by the throngs of people, we found the desk to report to, and showed the two ID,s we were handed a form and told to proceed to finger printing. This was completed with some amusement as my gf is left handed and found to difficult to move individual fingers....I paid 5php for a clothe to wipe off the ink from her fingers..We were supposed to sit then on the benches in an orderly fashion and then go to the Window 1 to process payments, however no one told us that and we just walked over paid and then stood in the huge queue to have her picture taken at one of the two windows. As lunch time neared, the queue moved faster and faster even although one window was closed to for lunch. Eventually she got her picture taken and then was told to go for lunch, so with only one hour being there we were already lunching.

We got back at about 1300hrs, and waited along with the throngs of people for her name to be called out. It was then that i realised, that there really is some order to the chaos there. We waited until 1430hrs for her name to be called out, only to be told that we have to come back in two weeks. Great two weeks means that we will only have three weeks before we fly to get the passport sorted out before we fly......this might be tight.....but like i say if it all goes wrong i am going anyway !!! The only alternative is to try and find her original Baptism certificate....i hope that doesnt mean a church visit..
