Madonna Of Japan.

We visited the Madonna of Japan memorial and i was disgusted at the state it was in. Whilst great attention had been paid to the grass and some flower beds, the monument was in complete disrepair, embarrassingly so. Which actually is a shame because there were lots of loverly places to sit and hide, and there were many couples just there hanging out.

5/10 Visit but only because it might fall down in the future.

Capitol Building. (CAP)

On the same road as the ruined Madonna, lies the Capitol building, an ornate and fancy building where all the government money is kept. It looked fantastic at night time, with the white building illuminated an orange light showing the depictions of the two major landings that have happened in the Philippines, Magellan and McArthur.

5/10 - interesting frieze

San Juanico Bridge.

Built by the Japanese the bridge crosses the Talon Strait between Leyte and Samar. Its an interesting place to visit, and best seen walking, something my fiancée, dislikes more than vegetables.

5/10 - C'mon ts just a bridge

Rafaels Farm.

A highly recommended restaurant past the San Juanico Bridge is this fantasticly set establishment. Set in some immaculate grounds, with manicure grass, water features and large fish filled lake. The food is reasonably priced too, with the set menu being the best choice, we both opted for the chicken sandwich, with a Lemon Grass Tea (which i thought was hot but was ice tea oppss ). The sandwich was made with fresh whole meal bread, with lashings of fresh salad, whilst the chicken fillet was little more than a cheap breaded 'fillet' as a whole deal it was delicious and presented with chips and some side salad to complete the look..... It maybe a long way from Tacloban City but was well worth the travel.

 9/10 worth the travel

Sto Nina Shrine and Museum.

We really wanted to visit the Sto Nina Shrine and Museum, however when we arrived we noticed that there was only one other van parked in the drive way. When we got to the door we realised the reason why. It was 200php per person entry and 30php to use the camera, 460php for a visit, NO way was i paying that. It was a shame because its a piece of history made completely inaccessible to the general public. The building looked like it was in need of some repair, with no visitors i guess theres no money to repair it..The High prices are most likely a runover from the Marcos dynasty.

1/10 dont bother unless u are happy spending that much money for a hours visit.

 Boy Scout Camp.

Just near the Macarthur Landings Monument is the Boy Scout Camp, theres nothing to see much there or do however, its on the must do things in Tacloban.
