ON teh 26th May, i left the apparatment and travelled the 175 kms to Bato, Santandar, to catch the RO RO to Tampi, Negros Orriental. It was a journet filled with pain and suffering. The bike was fully loaded, overloaded.
I left Lahug after spending the morning loading the bike, and started on my journey through Cebu, south towards satandar. It didnt start well. Firstly the weather, while the rain her is warm and pleasant, it makes riding an overloaed bike even more hair raising, add to this lorrys and taxis that spill oil and crap out onto the road making it slippery, but hey i must of survived i am writing this..!!
I made it as far as Talisay before the load slipped and i had to ride into a shell service station. With all the sheel people watching on, no one helped, the bike was too heavy to stand on its own with the weight in such a position, so i had to lean the weight of the load against a wall while i retied all the ropes...I found that the  weight in the main bag had moved, causing everything to move sideways. I redid the bonds and started off again......For the remainder of the journey all was well.....except for two lorries overtaking each other causing me to ride off the raod and into the drainage.....Luckily as i was being sensible and riding slowly, i could stop before i had an accident...When i reached bato, after about 5 hours of careful riding, i had to stop for fuel.....of cause this meaant everything had to come off the bike......hahah After 20mins of removing everything, and finllay getting to the tank, i told the pump atended i only wanted 10php worth....hahah he just looked SHOCKed at me...haha..of course i got a full tank, then reloaded everything, back on, another 20mins. This time although the load was better distributed on the bike it was too far forward, and i had to sit on the tinyiest of seating space.....Luckily the ferry was aonly a few kms away....
When i reached the ferry terminal it was the usual filipino, paperwork for paperwork sake.....first purchase the ticket then, fill out the manifest....but 149php it was good value. The bike would not go onto the main stand with out much help from a deck hand who just laughed at me......Finally i got to Harolds Mansion, checked inn, even though they didnt know i was coming......I unloaded the bike and of course my room is on the third floor...and then took a well earned shower, some food in the hotel and of course BEEERRRR......
