Where I stayed

We took a train from Agra to Jaipur and arrived late at night. Mr. and Mrs. Singh, the owners of Nana Hikaveli, a beautiful old heritage home where we stayed at picked us up at the station and had sandwiches made for us in case we were hungry. Mr. Singh was born and raised in this house.

We wake up and its Uddy's 31st birthday. We went to the Amber Fort, a castle built in 1592 where the Maharaja lived at with his twelve wives and dozens of concubines. Inside it is a labyrinth where he snuck from one room to another. We climbed the entrance in an elephant, not the best experience. The drivers don't treat the animals kindly so the 15 minute climb, which takes two minutes by foot, was pretty annoying. The fort itself was beautiful and the local guide provided an interesting insight into the history of the place and its inhabitants.

We then visited a castle in the center of town. Two people bored with this place are enough, so we'll spare you the details...

At night we met this British couple at our hotel and raced our Tuk Tuks 15 minutes to the Rambagh Palace Hotel for dinner and drinks.

We woke up late, were tired from the festivities. Visited some art galleries and met our new friends for a beer before heading to Chokhi Dhani, a mock Rajastani Village. This place is  the cheesiest place/fair we have experienced filled with transvestite belly dancers, horrible food and other lame attractions. Travelers, save your rupees. Next morning we left Jaipur in a car to Jodhpur.
