Belgium day five.

Today was a relaxed day, being Saturday and all, my stepmom and dad went off to do their chores with the kids and I decided to go on a little walk around the neighbourhood, it's so beautiful around here yet I only ended up taking one photo. I never realized how peaceful it is living on the countryside. Now I do. It has its pros that's for sure.

We had the famous Belgian french fries with chicken for lunch and some steamed veggies. You all do know that french fries aren't actually French I'm sure, yet, I bet most of you didn't know that french fries actually originated in Belgium. How the story came to be that they were named french fries instead of Belgian fries is rather stupid. A French man was visiting Belgium and one day had some fries with his lunch, he liked the idea so much that he went back to France and spread the word. Before you knew it, the fries idea was all over France when some American came to visit and had them and went back home and named them french fries. So there you go, the story of the fry. The story of the potato doesn't come from Europe at all, but from Peru, but that's another story for another day. As I was saying, the fries were so amazing. I don't know what it is about the fries here, but they are just so damn tasty!

I then went to buy my souvenir chocolates, I spent about 50 euros that's about what . . . almost 100 Canadian dollars geez haha for 10 boxes of chocolates. You guys better enjoy them :P

Tomorrow, Sunday we leave for France at 5am, i am not looking forward to it as it is 915pm and I can't fall asleep yet, so I've decided to drink as much red wine as possible to make me groggy enough but not have a terrible hangover tomorrow morning so I can pass out early enough.
