Awoke early for some reason and decided to get breakfast early and head off to San Gimignamo as I heard there was a morning market today.

Walking to the main house for breaky at 0830 , Glorious day, warm and sunny and right in our path was a snake !! yes snake, feeding on something !!
Called the owner who was more scared of snakes than us and said ?? maybe poisonous !! not a good start to the day.

Arrived in San Gimignamo, an amazing walled village and wandered the lovely alley ways, all so very enchanting.
I had heard that this village has the best gelati in Italy and I have to agree !! it was wonderful !! I had a cup with chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and passionfruit, it was so devine !!
Had a lovely lunch in the piazza,I had lasagna(first time and was very nice) and Brucey had a pizza !!
We visited the torture museum, a horrifying voyerism into the past and how they treated people.

Fully refreshed we headed of to Volterra another walled village 30 minutes away on the top of a mountain famous for its Alabaster. Wonderful old churches and castles.

Headed back to accom for happy hour and are just thinking of packing up one night early and heading to Bolongna (famous for its sausage) !! its a little closer to Venice where we need to be resaonably early on sat for our cruise, decisions, decisions.
