And so another shed load of time has flown by, where did that go?????
A couple of weeks ago we were introduced to the newest arrival in the family, Lottie May Clarke. It was a time for celebration as we all sat around cooing and, in the case of Faye our 15 year old niece, crying over little Lottie. While the boys took Amy out to the pub to wet the baby's head, us aunties cracked open a bottle of something cold. While mum was down the pub we decided we would show her how the age old practice of swaddling was done. Lottie, who didn't think much of this practice at first, being all trussed up and stiff as a board, after several minutes of crying gave in and slept like a baby.
The saga with my employer continues. After an email prompt from me HR have responded by saying they would be writing to me. I'm sure they are not following 'the correct process', but until I see exactly what it is they are willing to offer me I'm going along with it. I had an interview last week, it was a good interview, all positives, but I didn't get the job. I'm not upset about it as it wasn't really my cup of tea (PA to a Director) although I would have taken it AND done a good job. After all, it's possible to do just about anything for 4 months, isn't it? Onward and upward.
In the evening we let off a huge lantern, much to Dave's dismay who kept murmuring something about power lines and cows. A crowd of neighbours returning from a good night out gave us a round of applause when finally it made its way high into the night sky.
That's the nice thing about family get togethers, you can just sit around, watch telly and laugh, you don't have to pretend. The 'show me your anger' shots were taken as a result of an advertisement that, for some reason, makes Dave laugh whenever he sees it. It's so remarkable and memorable, I can't even remember what it's advertising.
