Seeing as we were up early, we enjoyed the lack of traffic headed into Love Field. We haven't flown Southwest since the construction was completed there and were pleasantly surprised. There are plenty of wide open spaces, outlets to plug in, comfortable seating, and the always positive Southwest employees.
After a few opportunities to doze between my step-father's middle of the night foraging for snacks, we gave up and got up at 4:15. I was actually awakened 4 times between 11:00pm and said 4:15. Tammy managed to sleep through the 3:15 round. However, as my eyes adjusted to the light from the kitchen streaming through our partially open bedroom door, I thought I was seeing the Pillsbury Dough Boy standing at our fridge, door open, looking like he was staring into a portal to another dimension. I was sorely mistaken. On that note we leave the 100 temperatures of Dallas for the milder days of Maine and a good night's sleep.
