I arrived in Philadelphia in the evening on Friday and met my friend and fellow photographer Carmen Nauseef of Blink of An Eye Photography we headed to the wedding rehearsal and dinner for the couple we were to photograph on Saturday. Eventually, we made it to the location in Moorestown, New Jersey and had a nice dinner getting to know the bride (Liz) & groom (Paul) as well as the families and wedding party. Afterward, we went back to the hotel and discussed photography "business" and tried to get to bed early so the next day we'd be ready to make some great photo memories for Liz & Paul.

Saturday morning was incredibly grey and rainy. Unfortunately, it didn't let up until after 6pm. The good news is, the Irish believe rain on a wedding day is a good sign for couples getting married. (However, it rained on my wedding day and I'm a single girl these days). The wedding was at a beautiful Presbyterian church and reception at the home of the brides brother. The home (mansion) was built in 1923 with beautiful architectural detail. Parts of the home had been updated so it was modern in the places most would appreciate (Kitchen, baths and family room).

Large tents were set up in the back of the property where the cocktail hour, dining and dancing took place. When the reception ended, a little after 11pm, Carmen and I headed back to the hotel. We both had early morning flights to catch. Carmen is heading to Marfa, Texas and I'm flying to Guadalajara, Mexico.

When I arrived at the Philadelphia airport, I was shocked to learn I was going to be assessed a $150 fee for my bag being over the 50 lb. weight limit. HOLY COW! This was DELTA Airlines. When I flew in from Charlotte on Friday with US Airways, I wasn't charged anything so this was a BIG surprise. I was REALLY lucky because the curbside check-in guy just happened to have an extra suitcase (I think he had pulled it from some damaged luggage department somewhere) he offered it to me so I could take some items out of my over weight bag and just add another bag to my travel. My daughter is flying with me for this leg of my trip so together we are allowed four checked bags for free. Voila - NO EXTRA BAGGAGE FEES, SO FAR! Just a BIG tip for the curbside check-in guy! I asked him to wrap tape around the suitcase because it was in really bad shape but I don't care what it looks like as long as my belongings arrive in one piece! TBD!!!!

I'll add photos from the wedding ASAP.

We're in Atlanta right now waiting for our connection to Guadalajara, Mexico. I'll write again soon!
