We decided to take a little break from diving.  We still wanted to spend a bit more time in the area, but my head needed a break.  Brian felt like the bad kid at school who's told that he can't go on the field trip :(  He wanted to be one of the 'cool kids' who could SCUBA, not just an ordinary snorkeller.  I asked him when we booked if he could be satisfied...

Even so, he (and I) had a brilliant time.  Best day yet with sun shining so we could see the colours of the coral and fish, especially since we were in such shallow water.  The sun also caused the water to turn this amazing colour of blue, or green, or aqua...I'm still not sure what to call it!

Brian was doing some free diving into the deep and had the wonderful opportunity to see an eagle ray eagle ray (well, we'll trust him and not think that he was hallucinating due to lack of O2).  Since he wasn't diving with the noise of the regulator he was nice and quiet and didn't make any bubbles.  He was just looking around before surfacing and out of the blue came this ray towards him.  It stopped and gave him a good look from only about 8 feet away.  Too bad that Brian had to go up for air.  He could see it below, but by the time he dove again it had gone.  Everyone was jealous :)

With our relaxing snorkel day we had lots of time to enjoy the views, beach and sun.  The island we were on had some steep peaks.  We climbed a 300m ridge that afforded some incredible views over the sea.  From this elevation we could see many islands and the surrounding reefs around them and some out further into the sea.

One more quick swim in the sea to soak up as much sun and enjoy the turquoise waters as we're on a 10 hr bus to KK tomorrow :P
