A few final thoughts and photos as we leave...Thailand might be marketed as the land of smiles, but I think Cambodia has it beat!
- scoop bucket 'showers'
- women wearing pj's as casual clothing
- tiny children on gigantic bicycles
- shops dedicated to communally watching television
- beautiful skies
- soup with every meal
- chickens with chicks everywhere
- electricity from 6pm-10pm
- naked children running around shouting out 'hello!'
- medical face masks are fashion accessories
- horns that actually wear out from use
- scented tissues on the tables
- water buffalo
- banana deep fried in sticky rice
- immovable teak furniture
- Fuel barrels covered in blankets and umbrellas so they don't explode in the heat
- blocks of ice dripping off the backs of motor bikes
- red dust covering everything
- geckos
- complimentary tea
- wedding celebrations everywhere!
- driving on the wrong side of the road
- children using banana leaves as umbrellas
- rice drying along the side of the road
- first introduction to iced coffee
- scorpions
- the smell of burning garbage
- 6 year olds driving mopeds
- ox carts piled high with sheaves of rice
- hanging laundry on barbed wire so it doesn't blow away
- hardest downpours of rain i've ever seen
- drinking fermented rice water out of a jar
- cooking in bamboo and banana leaves
- more mobile phone shops per capita than...well, I don't have a good analogy, but each street must have 3 or 4...
