Burst into town with a mission to fulfill:  get Brian's bike fixed, and find some internet access!

Thankfully, there were 2 bike shops and a Decathlon (French superstore for discount sporting and camping goods) so Brian was able to shop around.  Went with a much more robust and thicker rim (‘superior’ the man called it) with stream-lined sturdy spokes.  A beefy mountain bike rim that will handle the bumps better and support more weight than the last rim.  Upon looking at rim, the owner exclaimed ‘cassis’ busted!  Good thing it was replaced now.

Had a great lunch while we waited for the bike to be repaired.  With everything closing from 12:30-2:30, and restaurants only open from 12:00-2:30 there wasn’t much choice.  It was a great treat and change for us and I treated myself to an amazing gourmet dessert sampler with tiny little portions of everything:  crème brule, meringue, sorbet, mousse, café, and many more I don’t know the name of.

As could be predicted, about 5 minutes after picking up the wonderful ‘new’ bike,  Brian’s chain falls off and gets twisted around the pedal and kinked!  How this happens to him I have no idea….Shamefully he went back to the bike shop for help once again as it was too far back to our campsite for him to fix it with his own tools.  But the owner was very km and Brian was back out in 2 minutes flat.

Let’s hope that will do us for another 3000+km!
